URGE CONGRESS TO HALT DRAMATIC CUTBACKS TO VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT FUNDING.
Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding is crucial for Kentucky’s rape crisis centers to recruit and train advocates equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to offer essential victim support services. These include 27/4 crisis hotlines, counseling and help for survivors, legal and medical help, and ongoing support. Free. Confidential. 24/7.
Nationwide, VOCA is presently facing a perilous 40% reduction ($700 million) in the federal fiscal year 2024 budget. Existing funding constraints already pose challenges in meeting the needs of every survivor.
Add your signature to the petition created by our colleagues at ZeroV directed at Kentucky’s Congress members, and stand with us on behalf of survivors in urging Congress to allocate sufficient funding for VOCA in the final FY24 Appropriations budget.
Together, we can help survivors of sexual violence.
